Subaru mud plugger’s new lease on life

Subaru sixth-generation 190kW turbo 2.4-litre boxer 4 Outback SUV took a bow at the New York motor show. The latest durable off-roader of course gets Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive with added active torque vectoring and hill descent control as well as improved ground clearance. Outback will also get a 150kW 2.5-litre atmo boxer and both engines will be powered through an eight-speed CVT gearbox. Built on the latest Subaru Global Platform, the cabin has been completely reworked with water-repelling material seats and a Volvo-like 11.6in screen infotainment system while there’s 2 143 litres of storage with the rear seats folded down.
