Toyota’s sportscar is back!

Toyota has finally officially revealed its long-awaited BMW Z4-based GR Supra following a 17-year break since the last one.  Fernando ALonso was on hand to unveil this sports car in the purest form with a singular focus on driving pleasure, the fifth-generation Supra retains front-engined, rear-wheel-drive, two-seat layout of and is pitched directly at the Porsche 718 Cayman and honed by Toyota’s Gazoo Racing performance division. Powered by BMW’s direct petrol injection variable valve 250kW 500Nm 3-litre twin-scroll turbo straight-six and eight-speed automatic with Normal and Sport drive modes, launch control, a special ‘track’ setting that reduces the influence of the Vehicle Stability Control system and an active differential. Based around a ‘condensed extreme’ concept with a long bonnet and bubble roof new Supra reflects the 1960s Toyota 2000GT, while front and rear styling hark back to its erstwhile predecessor.
