Aberdein aims to end season in style

Jonathan Aberdein heads to one of his happy hunting grounds on the front foot as the FIA European Formula 3 Championship comes to a head over the weekend 13-14 October weekend. Aberdein scored a triple podium last time out at Austria’s Red Bull Ring and enjoyed a great outing at Hockenheim last time he raced there in the ADAC Formula 4 championship finale last year.

“We had a great weekend last race in Austria and now we head to a track that I really enjoy and one I have been successful at before,” Jonathan explained. “We closed off our ADAC Formula 4 campaign with a second at Hockenheim last year and we head back there to race against most of the guys I competed with last year, only it's now in Formula 3.

“We’ve been on several podiums through my rookie season, so what better way to end the season standing on that top step? “Hockenheim is another classic track and while it’s relatively short, it is a pretty tricky one to set up for, but we have found the sweet spot there before, so I am really looking forward to ending the year in style. “Bring it on!”

Jonathan’s late season charge sees him 12th overall in the hugely competitive FIA European Formula 3 championship and sixth in the rookie standings. There’s practice Friday morning before qualifying that evening with race 1 Saturday morning and qualifying for Sunday’s second and third races on Saturday afternoon — follow the action as it happens at www.fiaf3europe.com.
