New distributors, Super SUV confirmed for SA

Lamborghini boss Stefano Domenicali confirmed existing Porsche and Bentley agents LSM as the new South African distributor for Lamborghini at a function in Cape Town end July, while at the same time unveiling the new Lamborghini Urus to the local market.

“We are excited to open our first new corporate identity showroom in this beautiful city of Cape Town,” Domenicali confirmed. “The launch of the Urus will bring growth in this part of world and we are confident that LSM Distributors will deliver handsomely to South African Lamborghini customers.”

Toby Venter acquired Porsche distributor LSM in 1994, from where the company has risen to become a luxury and sports-car leader that today runs all Lamborghini, Porsche and Bentley business in South Africa and also owns the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit. 

The announcement coincided with the South African unveiling of the ‘multi-dimensional’ new Urus Super SUV that promises as much a luxury SUV as a most powerful super sports car boasting coupe styling and commanding road position that belie a most comfortable ride, higher ground clearance and luxurious space together with the latest tech. Powered by a 478kW 850Nm 4-litre biturbo V8.

Boasting among the highest specific power outputs and best in class power-to-weight ratios, Urus accelerates to 100km/h in 3.6 seconds, 200km/h in 12.8 seconds and on to 305 km/h to make it the fastest SUV on the road. First SA customers will take delivery of in the fourth quarter of 2018 with Urus pricing starting at R3.45-million including a 3 year/100,000km Drive Plan.
