Electric Jaguar is first German Car of the Year

The Jaguar I-Pace is the inaugural German Car of the Year. The all-electric I-Pace was selected from a group of five finalists including the Audi A6, Volkswagen Touareg, Peugeot 508 and hydrogen-powered Hyundai Nexo, by a by a panel of 14 independent motoring journalists. The final five were chosen from an original group of 59 new cars introduced to the German market over the past year and the I-Pace set itself apart over the second-placed Audi A6 and Volkswagen Touareg in third through high scores in the categories driveline, handling and significance categories. Delivering 300kW and 725Nm from an electric motor on each axle fed by a 90kWh lithium ion battery comprising 36 modules mounted low in its bespoke platform, the new Jaguar also offers a 450km range.
