Ford Ranger Raptor

Ford’s Baja-style bakkie under construction in SA

First pilot units of Ford’s built in South Africa 157kW 500Nm 2-litre biturbodiesel Ranger Raptor have started rolling off the Motor Company's Silverton, Pretoria production line ahead of the wild new bakkie making an SA debut early next year.  Boasting a smaller high pressure turbo and larger low-pressure turbo powering an all-new 10-speed automatic and hewn from exotic materials and backed by host of Driver-Assist Technologies, Raptor promises to be something of a bakkie revolution. Add race cred via Raptor’s Fox Position Sensitive Damping shocks absorbers and a Terrain Management System with a wild Baja mode and Traction Control; 283mm ground clearance and 150mm wider front and rear track; specially developed BF Goodrich tyres and enhanced stopping power and bold Ford Performance DNA outside and in and Raptor is bound to reset the bakkie rulebook.
