Truimph Classic Twin

More power, spec for Street & Scrambler duo

Triumph has trotted out its latest modern classic Street Scrambler and Street Twin. Both machines benefit a much improved liquid-cooled high-torque 900cc Bonneville heart — the parallel twin is boosted 18 percent to 50kW with its redline now up 50 to 7500rpm, while 85Nm torque arrives at 3200 rpm, right about the range where that sweet  exhaust note arrives.

The eight-valve lump gets lightened crank, dead and balance shafts bring a more responsive and quicker revving nature and that higher redline driving the good old five-speed gearbox through a new lighter torque-assist clutch and there are fresh magnesium cam and clutch covers. Both bikes get a higher-spec fork with 14cm travel for improved comfort, there’s a new Brembo fixed-mount four-piston front brake caliper

In spite of that classic look, Street Scrambler gets new Road and Rain modes, switchable ABS and traction control, and a new instrument cluster, a new LED rear light and even a USB charging port under the seat. Street Twin gets a six-speed gearbox, tyre pressure monitoring and switchable traction control,  a higher-spec cartridge fork. This provides 4.7 inches of travel and is promised to offer a smoother ride.
