New Ford Focus ST said to be the best yet

Ford promises its all-new Focus ST will offer the most responsive and agile driving experience ever, on road and track. Built on Ford’s new C2 platform and coming as a five-door hatch or estate, in petrol or diesel, ST will borrow tech from the Ford GT supercar and new Mustang. The most powerful ST yet, Focus gets a new anti-lag equipped 205kW 430Nm 2.3-litre petrol turbo Ecoboost engine for sub-6 second 0-100 acceleration, while the diesel ST gets a SA-built 140kW 405Nm 2-litre Ecoblue lump. ST gets torque vectoring to reduce understeer by applying brake force to the inside front wheel when cornering,  an electronic limited-slip differential, a rev-matching six-speed manual gearbox and seven-speed automatic too. Add Slippery/Wet, Normal Sport and a Track mode for Performance packed models, continuously controlled damping and a tuneable 15% quicker electric steering. Subtle exterior mods include unique alloys, a revised grille for increased cooling and a low wing with air curtains, a rear spoiler and twin tailpipes, while ST gets Recaro front seats and ST trim with exhaust amplification too
