South Africa’s W Series women's world championship star Tasmin Pepper continued to impress with a hard fought seventh  in the third round at Misano in Italy on Saturday to keep her title effort on the boil in 8th. Also at Misano, young SA DTM heroes Jonathan Aberdein and Sheldon van der Linde shone as Aberdein qualified his Audi a fine second for the opening race with Sheldon the top BMW in fifth before the duo raced to 8th and 9th respectively. Jonathan qualified third for race 2, van der Linde 11th, before coming home seventh and ninth respectively.

Moving over to our international bikers, Jozi lad Alann-Jon Venter endured a busy but difficult week at the Isle of Man TT, climbing from 38th to 24th in the lightweight race before taking a spill. He then hopped onto the Brunel Electric bike run by SA lad Rob Driver for the one-lap TT Zero Race where he ended fifth, while bike issues kept him out of the Supersport races.

Two South Africans were racing the Oschersleben FIM Motorcycle 8 Hour, and while Sheridan Morias’ Yamaha had retired, Bjorn Estment’s Suzuki was sitting 25th as we wrote. SA youngsters Dorren Loureiro and Dino Iozzo meanwhile raced in the weekend's Spanish World Supersport 300 motorcycle races, where Loureiro ended 20th and 17th in the two races, while Iozzo was 18th in race 1 but retired from the second heat.

Closer to home, the 20th birthday GTi Challenge races topped Killarney's regional bill as Christopher Swart took Class A, Eden Thompson B and Giordano Lupini C; Fabio Tafani won V8 Masters, Brad Hall took Silver and Martin Bensch Bronze honours. Zack Groenewald (Skyline) took Clubmans and Charles Arton (Datsun) Classics while two thin grids saw Craig Jarvis' Ginetta take Sports and Dee-Jay Booysen the Libre wins. On two wheels Yamaha trio Hayden Jonas won Superbikes from Trevor Westman and Ronald Slamet, Lubabalo Ntisana (Kawasaki) took the Club and Connor Hagan (Honda) the Powersports wins.

Further north, Mark du Toit and Kishoor Pitamber’s BMW won the Phakisa 200 from Louis Scholtz and Gary Gordon’s Hondas,  Jaguar two Franco di Matteo beat Mackie Adlem and JP Nortje's Corvette to Mobil 1 V8 victory and Keagan Masters won VW Challenge from Bevin Masters and Rory Atkinson, Stiaan Kriel took Class B and Farhaan Basha C. Brett Garland’s Honda won Car Clinic Superhatch, George Bezuidenhout’s Nissan 111s and Lushen Ramchander Formula Vee, while on two wheels, Graeme van Breda won Red Square ZX10 Masters, Mark Myburgh's Honda Bridgestone Challenge and Shaun Vermaak's Kawasaki the Superbike win.

Last but not least, thrilling fourth round Northern Regions Rotax Max Challenge saw multiple winners at Vereeniging as maiden victor Brandon Smith took two DD2 wins to Justin Allison’s one, Jayden Els shared Senior Max wins with Fabienne Lanz, Kwanda Mokoena and Aqil Alibhai split Junior Max wins, Matthew Morrell and Troy Snyman won in Mini Max, Mohammed Moerat and Luviwe Sambudla won in Mini Max and Tsepang Shisinwana and Keegan Beaumont took baby Bambino wins.
